The partnership between Probuild and the Richmond Football Club continues with the launch of the Boorimul program. The program is designed to provide a pathway to female Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander footballers into the AFLW. Along their journey, the Boorimul team will not only have the opportunity develop their football skills across three camps but as resilient community members through education and cultural awareness sessions.
Probuild Managing Director Simon Gray said the organisation was proud to support the program.
“It’s fantastic to see another AFL Women's talent pathway developed for aspiring young Aboriginal and Torres Strait footballers,” Gray said.
“We are proud that our support has helped enable the Boorimul program to be established.
“Whilst football is the focus of the program, importantly participants are also involved in leadership training, cultural affirmation and personal development."
The program will conclude when the team will play a curtain-raiser to the VFLW Tigers.
